Today is the Day…the official sneak peaks leading up to Craftin Desert Divas May stamp and die release event. All the new products will be officially available on the 25th, so you only have to hold out a few days more to order the new products.
Today I thought I would start with a little paper piecing to show off the new die set Garden Boarder Dies. For all you garden lovers out there, this die set will be an absolute must.
I decided to do something a little different for me with this card…I thought I would pull out my distress crayons and play with them a little. I use them all the time in my art journal or on canvases, but I rarely use them in my card crafting. But, you know what…today was the day. I rubbed several colors of brown (walnut stain and vintage photo) and die cut out the dirt. Then using lots of other colors I crafted the flowers, carrot, beets, and leaves. I found a scrap frame (you will see where it came from tomorrow so tune back in) cut from the two largest dies in the Fancy Frame Dies that had been crafted from four shades of blended Distress Ink (chipped sapphire, blueprint sketch, broken china, and tumbled glass) and figured out where it would go on an A2 frame. On the card frame I took the same shades of Distress Crayon (see above blended color) and started drawing clouds…I’m not certain these worked, but then again, I sort of feel like it does.
I assembled the card, using lots of Scor Tape to keep all the die cuts stuck to the card stock. The card was finished off with a sentiment from the CDD This and That sentiment stamp set. I know this isn’t my normal style of card…but sometimes you just have to try something different. And I think it is really fun.
Make sure you come by each day this week for another sneak peak at all the great products being released this month. Till then, enjoy the fun over at the CDD Facebook Gallery
