Happy Friday

Yes, it is Friday…thank goodness.  As the days dwindle down to our cross country move (did I mention that my family is moving?  if now, we are) I find that I need the weekends more than ever.  Because at least on the weekends, I have extra hands to help.  So yes…it is a happy Friday.

If I have seemed quiet on the card challenge front, it is because of this up coming move…packing sucks.  But I managed to sit down and settled my stress for a little bit by getting to craft.  So I thought I would take a moment and share that with you all.

pp344Up first is a bright and bold color challenge from the gals over at The Paper Players.  This week the colors for the challenge are tempting turquoise, real red, tangerine tango, and pear pizzazz.

I needed a simple anything card for a friend, so I pulled this simple EK Gorman PP344floral digital image and printed out.  Then I colored it in using my copics.  For the turquoise color I used B02, B04, B06.  The red color was R17, R46, and R89.  The Tangerine was made with YR02, YR04, and YR09.  Finally the pear color was done with YG61, YG63, and YG67.  I added some red card stock and a piece of blue paper and orange paper.  Finally a few red crystals finished this off along with the love you sentiment from Hero Arts.

SSS 510 May 14 2017The team over at Catch the Bug‘s Sunday Stella Says Sketch has a great sketch challenge this week.  EK Gorman BUGSSS510

I pulled out a Margo digi from Bugaboo, and colored her up brightly with my copic markers.  Then I pulled out some printed paper and adhered it to an A2 frame.  I pulled a raindrop stamp from a Craftin Desert Divas stamp set and added it around the printed paper.  Finally I add a Craftin Desert Diva sentiment and rain cloud/sun image.

LIM #328I feel i completely flopped the design this week for the CAS challenge group Less Is More.  This week the challenge was a one layer spots and stripes theme.EK Gorman LIM 328

I pulled out a Bugaboo digi (get use to me using digital stamps for a while.  I have a pile waiting for me to use for the move.  Frankly, they are easier to carry than all my stamps.)  I loved the dots on the inside of the heels, and figured it would work for the challenge.  I flopped on the hand colored in copics stripes.  I don’t think I did it correctly.  However, there are moments, I still really like this, and yet, I don’t.  I do however like the sentiment I choose from Riley’s Funny Bones.  It makes me giggle, frankly, because it is true.

EK Gorman LMM163Finally, today, I have an ‘Anything goes” challenge card from the designers over at Little Miss Muffet.  I whipped this card up for my school’s PTA president (who btw rocks on so many levels) to say thank you for all the support she has given me and the art program I’ve run this year.  She is a wine and beer gal like me, and many of our meetings have happened at an establishment where drink such as these could have been had.

I pulled out another Bugaboo digital image and colored it up with my copics.  I added some printed paper and a couple of embellishments and handed it off to my friend.  And yes, this is often how my thank you cards look.  I always seem to forget to add “thank you” to them.  Oh well…

That’s all for today…till I get my next moment to randomly craft…have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Fabulous cards! I’m so impressed that you’re producing so many cards that look so great with an impending move hanging over you – you rock! I absolutely love your card for our spots and stripes challenge. The digi is perfect with the super dotty lining to the shoes, and your hand drawn stripes are brilliant – like a posh wallpaper. Great job! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More 🙂
