Farewell weekend, Hello week

I am only going to pop in here for a moment this evening.  I spent way too much time coloring up this card to miss a link up, so while my words might be short tonight, the art doesn’t fall so (for those who maybe new, I believe little well colored cards can be little bits of art).

SSC151Up first today is the card I am trying to get in under the wire.  It is from the team over at Muse.  I didn’t realize at first glance that the inspirations card was heat embossed, not colored.  For reasons I guess I didn’t get, I thought the flowers had been colored this way, EK Gorman MUSEso I stamped out a flower from Craftin Desert Divas multiple times in pale tan, and started coloring.  I decided to use the color scheme from Sunday Stamps, concentrating on that great orange color.  And yes, this took quite some time to color.  The copics I used were YR21, YR23, YR24, and YR27.  I trimmed the card Up and added some floral printed vellum to the card stock.  Then I matted the floral page with some deep green, and then I trimmed up a sentiment from Ellen Hutson Essentials.  Everything got adhered and added to an A2 frame.

1Next I have a card inspired by a lovely photo from Bugaboo’s Catch The Bug.  I don’t tend to lean to floral stamps, so I had to find a
digital stamp EK Gorman CTB 4:23that had flowers on it and could set up to be inspired by the image.  I am seriously drawn to the pink in that photo and thought this digi would work.

I printed out the digi and colored it in with my copics.  Sorry, but I used to many colors to memorized with was which.  However, I can tell you that I used RV10, RV21, RV13, RV14, and RV17 to make all my pinks.  I added a bunch of glitter pen, and matted the image with some bold pink card stock.

EK Gorman SSD#1Finally I am trying out a new challenge, and it isn’t just new to me, it is new period with their first challenge happening now.  The new challenge is Sheepski Designs and for the first challenge they are having an anything goes challenge.

I needed some more mother’s day cards, so I went for it, stamping out this image and coloring it in with watercolor markers (couple different brands).  I backed the A2 card with brown printed paper, and then added a touch of pink!  Sheepski, here is hoping that you have a nice long run with lots of challenges to come.

Okay that’s it and I am off to bed!…  See you later.
