Hello crafty friends. Have you checked out the ‘spring-tastic’ April mood board over on Craftin Desert Divas‘ social media Gallery?
I’m here today sharing my second project this month featuring inspiration from this mood board. It is such a bright and Spring
filled inspiration board.
I decided to go with a CAS card this time, hoping to keep things fresh and clean. I started with a piece of ‘off gray’ (if you can call that a
color) piece of card stock and pulled out my Misti to do some layered stamping. I used CDD’s Botanical Layers stamp set. I stamped out the outline of one of flowers in one corner, and masked it off. Then I stamped the
outline of the leaf several times, masking where I needed too. Keeping the flower mask on (or putting it back on in my case) I then stamped out the layered leaf stamp in Memento New Sprout
(pale green). Being the major dork that I am, I dropped my ink pad onto the card leaving a bit of green ink behind. For those of you who
don’t know me, I simply refuse to make a card more than once, so to solve the blip, I added another flower and leaf pattern in the area of the boo-boo (if you look close in the figure to the left you will see the green ring). For the flower, I
added the first stamp layer with Memento angel pink to (now) both flowers. Because I
am a terrible stamper (which is why I own and use a Misti) it took multiple layers of this pink to get it filled in. The second stamp layer of color was done in Archival Rose Madder (I don’t often stamp in color so I actually do not own a turn of colored inks.) I added a sentiment from the Wishful Thoughts sentiment stamp pack in the same angel pink (and again it took several layers to get a nice stamp impression). I trimmed a bit of the side off the card stock and added a border of Doodle bug paper. I felt the the card needed a couple of sequins so I pulled a few from the Pastel Paradise sequin pack and adhered them to the card. Finally I added everything to an A2 frame and called it a day.

I can’t wait to see how you use this month’s mood board. Don’t forget to add #CDDMONTHLY to you social media posts, so we can find your designs instantly!!!

This is so pretty, love the colours
