I’m back reminding everyone that there is still time to add your musical notations cards to April’s theme challenge over at Christmas Card Throwdown.
The theme this month is not only the standard Christmas Card, but also musical notations.
My second card for this challenge may be a bit of a stretch, but for my family it makes perfect sense. See in my house, with two little girls, when you say, “Do you want to build a Snowman?”, someone, be it the girls, my son, my husband, or frankly even myself answers with a sing songy voice, “or ride a bike around the hall.” We are big frozen fans here, and for my family, it has sort of become a holiday classic, probably because we saw it in the theatre for the first time the day before Christmas. So for the past few years, in the days leading up to Christmas we pull out the disk and watch it.
So when I saw these Enchanted Wishes stamps from Craftin Desert Divas on clearance, well I just had to have them for this challenge. I stamped out a scene, with Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and well a Christmas Tree, not to mention the sentiment from another retired Craftin Desert Diva stamp set, Snowman Kisses. I used my inktense pencils to watercolor the image, keeping most of my shading fairly simple. But I felt I needed more musical stuff to really fit this challenge. So I printed out a chord sheet in 40% scale from the internet (and yes I printed out the musical sheet for Do You Want to Build a Snowman). I added a bunch of Distress Tea Dye Ink over the sheet and adhered it to an A2 card frame. I added the watercolor paper at an angle and trimmed off the corners that went off the edges.
I can’t wait to see how you play with this month’s theme of musical notations!!!
