As we travel into the days of spring and the beauty (and allergies) that go along with it, there is a fun challenge happening. Coffee Loving Cardmakers is hosting a spring Coffee blog hop, and Craftin’ Desert Divas is a part of it.
CDD is offering Bunny Latte digital stamp for free with the code CLBH (through 3-31-17) for people to play along with for the hop, however, while you are in the shop, go look at all their great coffee themed digis. Trust me, they have some really cute ones.
Frankly, I couldn’t help myself, so I colored up a whole series of coffee themed cards, so check back over the next few days to see all the different cards I’ve done.
The first card I made, I used the free digi, Bunny Latte. I didn’t want to go with a white bunny, so instead I aimed for a coffee colored bunny and colored him in with my copics, using E49, E47, and E59. Now the question is, was he that color to begin with, or has he been coffee stained. I ended up coloring the coffee cup (BG72, BG75, BG78) darker than I wanted, so I went searching for a stamp to soften the look. Ironically, in the newly released Norse Warriors stamp set, had the perfect image, a small wooden shield. I pulled out my colored pencils and added some depth and dimension (in addition to textured fur) to both the bunny and the coffee cup. Using my favorite White Gelly Roll pen, I added some reflections to both the eyes and the spoon. I also added some sparkle with my Silver Star Gelly Roll pen to the steam and the sentiment. I added a few turquoise sequins from a pack of Emerald Isle Sequins. I trimmed down the image and matted it with black card stock die cut from Fancy Frame Dies. Finally, I adhered everything to an A2 card and called it a day.
I am so looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge. And don’t forget to check out all the other coffee themed digis in the shop!!!
