It is Sunday, which means it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations. This week we have a unique color challenge happening. This week we are watching for designs that can really highlight the colors poppy, cream, and gold.
We are sponsored by this week by Craft Classes Online. They are very generously offering a free seat to any of their online workshops found on the CCO website (Reg. price of $25 or less) to one randomly chosen winner.
I know it doesn’t look like it, but this was a very simple card this week. This week I pulled out a Nutcracker stamp set from W plus Nine and stamped all the different stamps out masking where was needed.
Then I started coloring in the card with my copics. I did a basic skin tone for the kids, and a neutral brown for the hair, shoes, tree trunk, and mouse. Then I used a combination of E50, E53, and E43 for the cream combination, R35, R46, and R59 for the poppy, and Y00, Y23 and Y28 for the gold. In the end I didn’t like how the gold came out, so I painted Liquitex gold ink onto the gold sections and a little into Clara’s hair. The card has amazing sparkle and shin.
Finally I pulled out a simple sentiment from Hero Arts and stamped it in gold Brilliance ink.
I really suggest you take a few minutes and see all the other designs or Design Sweeties came up with this week. They are really diverse and fascinating this week.
Wow, this does not look simple but beautifully done! Happy Holidays to you!
