Cupcake Inspirations #383

cic383It’s the start to another Sunday, which means it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.  This week we are hosting a theme challenge, and the theme is, drum roll please, trees.

This week we are being sponsored by Paper papersweetiesSweeties, who is generously offering a $25 gift certificate to one random participant.

I, myself went over to Paper Sweeties and downloaded one of their very cute digital images that they offer for free and arranged it multiple time on my digital layout before printing it.  I colored the pretty little hearts in with my copics and splashed them with a little glitter from my gel pen.  I then pulled a tree stamp I have in my stash from My Favorite Things and sort of stamped it out (I stamped the top and the bottom and filled in the lines in the middle by hand), magically stretching the tree to cover my whole A2 card and colored it in with my copics as well.  I added a sentiment from the same tree stamp pack, and added blades of grass and a hint of sky into the scene.  Finally I pulled two different green pieces of card stock and die cut some floral images out of them with to different sized floral dies.  I placed the flowers at the top and limb of the tree to suggest foliage.  I snagged a scrape of one of the card stock and trimmed it so that it could trim the side of the image, and called it a day with this design.

Take a few minutes and run over to the other Design Sweeties and see how they whipped up designs using the theme ‘trees’.  Trust me you won’t be sorry, they are super cute.
