Cupcake Inspirations #379

cic379It’s Sunday which means that it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.  This week we are hosting a theme challenge where we are looking for designs whipped up with the theme of ‘Oh, Baby!’.  Yes, you have got that right, we are looking for designs spd-gift-cert-20intended for babies.

This week we are hosted by Sugar Pea Designs who is generously offering a $20.00 gift certificate for one random participant.

Now, this challenge for me was a bit of a pickle.  I just don’t make many baby cards.  No, that’s sugarpeadesignsnot quite correct.  I make baby cards, I just usually use original art on them to coordinate with the themes of the soon to be baby rooms.  In fact, I often paint a canvas for the room as a gift, and then the card coordinates with images from the canvas.  So using stuff in my stash to make a baby card was a bit tricker.

However, I came across this cute teddy bear from Me to You and knew if I colored it right, it just might work.  So I went about coloring this stamp with my copics in shades of pink, so that a little baby girl could be blessed with something way too cute.  I found the sentiment from a Hero Arts stamp pack cic-379-ek-gormanwhich I thought was perfect.  Finally in my really old 12×12 paper stash,  found this beautiful pink and green printed paper with beautiful embossed section and knew it would make a perfect back ground from the little bear.  I adhered both the bear and the sentiment with dimensional tape and left everything that simple.

This may not be the most interesting card I have ever designed, however, I think it is the perfect card for a little baby about to come into the world.  Now, I just need to paint the canvas to go with it.

Take some time to run over to the other Design Sweeties and see the amazing design work they have done this week.  Trust me, their work is amazing and not nearly as simple as mine this week.

That’s all for today.  Hope you enjoyed the baby sweetness, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with to celebrate the babies in your world.
