It is Sunday which make it the start of a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations. This week is a color challenge and we are asking that you whip up a sweet design using the colors mint, poppy, and kraft.
This week are are being sponsored by Little Miss Muffet who is generously offering a prize of $6 worth of digi stamps (and trust me you can get several digis for just six bucks).
One of the fun things about digi stamps is that you can change their sizes, or flip or rotate them. I choose to flip Puddle Jack and color him the other way, just for fun.
I decided not to use my copics for once (mainly because my go to kraft color is running low and I don’t have a refill for it), and went with my prismacolor colored pencils. I always forget how much I love coloring with my colored pencils, but how much longer I take using them. It could be because I seriously layer colors when I play with my pencils, and this design was no different. The only part of the design that I used my colorless blender was on the duck himself to smooth out my scratch marks.
I pulled out some kraft paper, some great poppy-ish colored texture card stock, and some smooth mint card stock, and layered them onto my A2 card. I added some red eyelets (it was sort of hard to hammer out my hole since the paper was so thick), and I love the subtle touch it gave the whole card. I added my focal image with a bit of dimensional tape, and a simple little sentiment from Avery Elle.
