Cupcake Inspirations #372

CIC372It is the start of another Sunday, and the start of a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.  This week we are hosting a color challenge, asking you to whip up a sweet design featuring the colors honey, white and amethyst.

This week we are sponsored by Polka Doodles who is offering a $10 digi voucher to one random participant in this weeks challenge.unspecified-2

Polka Doodles was kind enough to give us Design Sweeties a digital stamp to play with this week and I had the honor of coloring You’re Weird.  Such a fun and detailed stamp, but it presented just a bit of a challenge with the color limitations.  However, as you all know, I do so love a coloring challenge.

I pulled out my Copics and went to town coloring in my little scientists, letting the amethyst color highlight their clothing, and the honey highlight their hair.  I loved the hexagons in the back ground that allowed some extra color blending.  I searched my paper stash for some paper that matched my coloring, but was unable to find anything that really matched, so I colored some scrap card stock with my markers and layered them together.  The card was still missing something, so I, in the end pulled out a bit of light purple printed paper and put it under everything.  Finally I added the focal image with some dimensional tape so the little scientist would stand out.

Please take a few minutes and check out the other amazing designs from out design Sweeties.  They are truly inspiring.

That’s all for today, but I can’t wait to see what you do with the challenge.  I just know it will be delicious.

  1. Oh this is wonderful! I really like the depth you’ve created on the background hexagons! I love what you done with this image. Fab! Deborah x BTW – Sorry for not commenting recently x
