So here is a fun start to the new year. A little guest designing for one of my favorite card design challenges, Cupcake Inspirations.
Last year, back in November, I designed a card for a challenge and was selected as one of the sweet six cards for the week. (if you want to see the post including the card, head on over.) Well, that sweet six card, got me the privilege of getting to design early for this weeks challenge. I know, kind of cool right. Especially to see a challenge before everyone else.
What makes this group stand out from all the other card challenges, is the formate that they use. Instead of just handing out a sketch or a color scheme, every week the people over at Cupcake Inspirations give a picture of a perfect little cupcake, and some colors from the pic or a theme. No they do not want a card depicting a cupcake. They just want the perfect little confection to inspire you. It is fun, and more important, it is different from the rest.
This week, they gave a very festive little confection to inspire us by, with the theme of elegance.
If these little beauties don’t inspire you to toast to the new year, I’m not sure what will.
Anyway, I pulled out my new (thank you Santa) Big Shot die cutter and started playing with the idea of a shaker card. I choose butterflies because when I see them I think of HOPE. And new years are nothing if they are not filled with hope. I filled the card with white glitter, stamped out a champagne glass, and keep everything really simple, just like the little cup cakes. So why don’t we all toast to the New Year, and our hope for what is to come.
