Summer Fun

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun gElizabeth Craft Designs has a huge group Summer Fun group post today.  I thought I would create a trio of summer fun cards for this event.

IMG_6956Step One: On some watercolor paper, create an ombre of blue using Distress Oxides.  I used Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire.

IMG_6957Step Two: Create frames using 90lb Soft Finish cardstock trimmed to 4.25×5.5 inches and the Garden Notes Frame It/Stitched Rectangle die set.

IMG_6958Step Three:  Add a sentiment to the bottom of each frame from the Beach Sentiments stamp set using some blue ink.

IMG_6959Step Four:  Die cut the Palm Trees die set out of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

IMG_6960Step Four: Color the die cuts using Distress Oxides.  I used Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover for the palm leaves.

IMG_6961I used Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for the sand, trunks and coconuts.

IMG_6962I used Fired Brick and Abandon Coral for the hammock.

IMG_6963Step Five:  Adhere the blue back ground to an A2 card frame using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Adhere the die cuts to the blue background using Kids Choice Glue.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun eStep Six:  Adhere the white frame on top of the background using three dimensional tape.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun fI just love how this card came out and how the splatters on the background almost look like stars.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun cFor the Flamingo card, repeat steps 1-6 except use the Flamingos Die set.  I used Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose for the flamingo’s body and Hickory Smoke and Scattered Straw for the legs and beak.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun dThis is my favorite of the three cards.  It might be the least summer feeling, but it simply makes me happy.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun aFor the Sandcastle card repeat steps 1-6, except use the Sand Castle die set.  I used Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap for the Sand Castle and Fired Brick and Abandoned Coral for the bucket.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Summer Fun bThis is probably the most summer of the three cards and has such a fun child like feel with it.

Thanks for peeking in on my summer projects.  Make sure you pop over the ECD blog and check out all the cool Summer projects.  Until then, happy crafting.
