Hey everyone.  Incase you didn’t know, Craftin Desert Divas is having a huge release party happening.  If you haven’t RSVPed yet, you should do that.  There are all kids of opportunities for some new stamps for free if they can get enough people “going”.  And trust me, these new stamps sets are cute, cute, cute.

I’m here today sharing on the new stamp sets, Happy Trails.  If is a really fun set that has so many different possibilities.  .  Today, I am show casing the firetruck from the stamps set, and his raccoon driver.

Literally just around the corner from where we live, are both a fire station and police station, and my kids like taking homemade baked goods and thank you notes to both stations from time to time.  The new Happy Trails set made making thank you notes so much easier for me.

I stamped out the firetruck image and the ‘thanks for your help’ sentiment from the Happy Trails set.  Then using the sentiment stamps from Wishful Thoughts, I added the ‘You’re the best’.  I then snagged my pencil and started adding a simple background scene behind the image.  I colored in the image with my copics, keeping the colors in a simple primary pallet.  I discovered when I was done coloring that the buildings needed a some sketchy pen lines to help define the area.  Also I discovered that I lost a little bit of the large sentiment and the firetruck within the coloring.  So using my White Gelly Roll Pen, I outlined the firetruck to help it pop.  I also added some white highlights to the large sentiment, and highlights to the windows in the buildings and on the hat and times of the fireman and truck.  Finally, using the largest of my Fancy Frame Dies, I die cut out the image.  I adhered the colored image to an A2 frame using my favorite adhesive 1/4″ Scor-Tape.
