It is Sunday which means it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspiration. This week we are playing with a new theme, ‘plaid’.
It is kind of a fun theme, and any plaid is welcomed, not just black and read plaid.
This week we are sponsored by Gerda Steiner Designs. They are very generously offering a $15 gift certificate for one random participant in this week’s challenge.
I decided to use a black and red plaid design (seriously any plaid will do) from a christmas pack of card stock. I stamped out a Julie Nutting stamp on both the sheet of plaid card stock and on some white card stock. I trimmed out the dress on the plaid card stock and trimmed the left over bits into a nice rectangle. I colored in the stamping on the white card stock wth my copic markers. I used YRooo, BV00, and E21 for the skin tone, E35, E08, and E59 for the hair, and C05, C07, and 100 for the pleats in the dress. I also filled in the dress with R89 just in case I poorly cut the dress (which I tend to do, lets be honest). I adhered the dress to the stamp, and then trimmed up the white card stock.
I adhered all the bits and pieces onto an A2 card. Pulling out a Stampendous sentiment pack and choose a love sentiment, embossing it onto the card with some white embossing powder.
Take a few moment and go see what the other Designs Sweeties did this week using our theme of plaid. Trust me, you won’t be sorry.
This is seriously AWESOME!! I totally love the red and black plaid used in such a classy way. Super cute!!

I have to use Carol’s term here…Now that’s what I call “plaid-a-palooza”! I love the look of the shading in her hair and the folds of the dress. Love the paint spatters! I just ordered some Spectrum Noir markers after seeing all the great coloring going on. Can’t wait to get my markers so that I can start practicing!
