I forgot to fight…

Sometimes the most terrifying thing in the world is a blank canvas.  A completely ’empty and open for any possibility’ canvas.  I mean, what if you mess up, or disrupt the pure empty cleanliness.  And what if you pick the wrong subject to create.  What if, what if, what if…  That’s sort of where I have been lately, in a vast land of ‘what if’.  So, to push past the fear, I have been making a lot of messes lately.  Painting ugly for the sake of getting over the fear of messing up.

So to celebrate my little victory over the empty canvas, I pulled out the digital stamp IMG381 Blank Canvas Alice the Artist from Oddball Art, and let Alice paint what I’ve been feeling lately…the notion that for a minute, I forgot to fight.

EK Gorman, Oddball Art aI was feeling like being a little funky today, so I printed the digi out onto some Kraft paper and pulled out my copics to color on the dark paper.  If you have never colored on kraft with copics, you need to know that the color won’t show up the way you are use to.  So it is wise to have a bit of scratch paper and test our colors first.
