There is a new challenge up over at Christmas Card Throwdown, and this week it is a color challenge. The colors for this challenge are Brown, Green, and Kraft, and I am not going to lie to you, I found this challenge especially hard.
I don’t know if it is some kind of personal block or what, but I really struggled to come up with a design this week! And since I struggled, I did what I rarely do, and made another card, so here are two cards for the price of one.
I sort of always promised myself that if I was going to do this, I wasn’t going to pretend that everything I did as perfect. I was going to admit to the mistakes and the ugly…and I sort of think this week is one of those occasions. Even now I write these words I am coming up with better ideas then what I created. I am not going to say much this week about the process…no what I am going to say is that I struggled, and let you decided for yourself if I was successful in the end.
This is the first card I created, and in the end, I think it was the better of the two…sort of.
Then stamp set is from an Inkadinkadoo stamp set, and the metallic green background is created with washi tape.
And yes, the circles are actually cork which I love.
The second card I created, technically I think is a better design, but I just can’t connect to it.
This one was created with a Recollections stamp and die set.
And yes, I used the cork stickers again here, because seriously that is a cool dot adhesive.
I hope this challenge comes a little easier to you than it did for me. I can’t wait to be inspired by your designs.
C’est vraiment très original EK, je ne connais pas du tout ces tampons…et c’est vrai que ces dots sont super cool! Biz
