There is a new theme challenge up over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are celebrating the all kinds of Christmas Pets.
I might have two projects this week…the first one I thought was a fail, and so I made a second one…then I realized that I actually kind of liked the first one figured I’d include both, so bare with me this week!
My second project (yes I am doing this in reverse order) features a stamp from Darcies House and Home and I kept the copic coloring really clean and simple. I trimmed up the feature image and backed it with some dark holiday paper and a couple of sequins from a Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blend sequin mix.
I think this card ended up being really sweet, but actually nothing special to write home about.
I wish I had remembered to add the string from the ornament, but alas, I am only just now noticing that it is missing.
My first project I set out to create a metallic look, and yet keep it a ‘one layered’ card.
I stamped out an Art Impression holiday pet onto some watercolor paper, and then surrounded the image with some wide double stick tape.
Using some Nuvo Gilding flakes in Sun-kissed Copper, I covered the double stick tape to create a metallic frame.
Then I used an embossing pen and some sticky embossing powder to fill the pup’s coat and hat with Gilding flakes. Then I ‘watercolored’ the image using my distress markers.
I finished the card off with a bannered sentiment and some red crystals loosing the one layered card status, but think the banner was needed to break up the metallic a little.
Let me know in the comments below which of the two holiday cards you like better. And don’t forget to join in on the fun over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. I can’t wait to see you Christmas Pet christmas card.
Très sympa ces créations, fun et joyeuses, biz

I think the fun kitty makes the first card but I do like all the metallic on the second. Hmm, I can’t choose! x
