Happy Holiday Elves

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs aIt is that time of month again where the design team over at Elizabeth Craft Designs gets together and plays along with the designer challenge.

This month’s challenge is a A Very Krista Christmas –  where the team Creates a Christmas or Winter card using any of Krista Schneider’s new Christmas/Winter themed Stamp sets.

I may have gone a little copic coloring crazy today using the new Elves stamp set.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs dStep One:  Stamp out the scene using copic friendly black ink.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs eStep Two:  Using a copic friendly pen, draw in a ground line, fill in the banner lines and add a sketch of a tree marking where you need it.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs fStep Three:  Color in the stamped images using your alcohol markers.  I used copics.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs iColor all the stamped images first, making sure they remain the star of the scene.  You should use your boldest colors on the focal images.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs jStep Four: Start coloring in the back ground with your alcohol markers.  I always start with the floor to help ground the characters into the scene.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs kFill in the tree and add some color to the back ‘wall’.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs lStep Five: Trim a piece of Ladybug Red Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 inches, and score and fold it at 6 inches to create a 6×6 inch card frame.  Trim a piece of 6×6 piece of True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.  Die cut the sentiment out of Ladybug Red Soft Finish Cardstock from the Words 5- Winter Wishes die set.

Step Six:  Die cut a rectangle frame using Garden Notes Frame It/stitched rectangles out of some True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.  Add the colored scene into the frame and adhere with 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs mStep Seven:  Adhere the Green Frame to the card base using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Adhere the sentiment to the frame using Kids Choice Glue.
