There is a new stash challenge up and rolling over at 52 Christmas Card Challenge. This week’s stash challenge is lace.
This was sort of a hard challenge for me, because I do not usually make cards with lace. However, as I stared at a piece of lace I normally would use on a big canvas, I kept thinking ‘wouldn’t this look pretty if I could get some glitter behind it’. Then I realized, I probably could. I pulled out some card stock and a big sheet of double sided clear adhesive and added it to the frame and add the lace on top of it. Then I added some micro fine glitter on top of the lace and let it stick to the adhesive. And suddenly I was off and rolling with the project.
I made two ‘ornaments’ from Elizabeth Craft circle dies and strung it from some string. I added more glitter to the ornaments and even a little more lace.
I finally heat embossed a sentiment to the card and let the ornaments hang from the popped banner.
I am really curious how you are going to play with this fun de-stashing card. I hope you have an easier time starting then I did. Till then, happy crafting.
What a beautiful end result!

What a great idea to add glitter through the lace – it makes a really beautiful, and unusual, base for your card. The ornaments are lovely, you could do something like this for your tree!
