There is a new challenge up over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are hosting a color challenge, and this time around the colors are shades of blue!
Today, I have two looks for the price of one because I was experimenting with one of my few woodblock stamps. I don’t really have woodblock stamps, but this one from Hero Arts is just too beautiful not to own.
I stamped out the image first using some cornflower blue archival ink so all that beautiful detail would show up.
I trimmed up the card stock, backed it with some pretty blue printed paper, added some ribbon, and a simple blue jewel.
For the second card I took some distress inks in tumbled glass, faded jeans and chipped sapphire. I sprayed the stamp with some water and then stamped it onto some watercolor paper. You loose a lot of the stamp’s detail, but the color blend is just beautiful!
The cardstock again got trimmed up and pretty paper and ribbon was added to an A2 frame. For both cards I added a simple sentiment, because lets be honest, with you get a beautiful white winter on Christmas day, it is absolutely a gift from Santa.
I can’t wait to see what you do for this challenge and how your Christmas Card shows off different shades of blue. Till then happy Crafting.
Oh la la, ce qu’elles sont élégantes et surtout très belles ces cartes, magnifique paysage, biz

Both your cards are gorgeous EK! And you’re right – that stamp is just beautiful. The colour scheme really suits your cards this week – and I love the jewel you’ve added – it’s perfect! Hugs, Gill xx

Thank you. Those jewels are so old I don’t even know where they came from but I still hoard them cause they are pretty.
