It is December (is anyone else shocked by this…because I simply can’t believe how quickly this year has passed), and with the start of this holiday filled month, it is time for  Christmas Card Throwdown year pick a previous challenge.  This year you have the opportunity to pick any challenge from 2012 or 2013!  Basically you have 100 different challenges to pick from, so go forward and have way too much fun!

I went ahead an picked a color challenge from October 2013!  This challenge says ‘no red or green’ which I thought sounded kind of fun!

I pulled out a stamp set from Ellen Hutson Essentials and stamped out some images onto some watercolor paper with some archival ink.

Then I pulled out my inktense pencils and started coloring.  I used basically blues and pinks to color the pjs and the lights.  I added some more colors to finish the project, not wanting to leave any white paper.  Then using some cobalt archival ink to stamp out the sentiment.  I will be honest and tell you I pieced three different Ellen Hutson Stamp set sentiments to get this one…but I think it works.

I trimmed up the water color paper and added some grey cardstock under it.  I added a few pearl dots, because it felt like it needed something.  Then I added some white dots with my white gel pen to the lights to create the illusion of reflections.

I honestly can’t wait to see what previous challenge you pick to play with!  This challenge lasts longer than normal so please don’t forget to load your project up!
