There is a new challenge up over at Christmas Card Throwdown. The new challenge is a technique challenge, and this time we are looking for designs that have ‘Embossed Impressions’.
I found this challenge particularly difficult, mainly because I just don’t emboss all that much. I pulled out some watercolor paper and using some Vintage Photo Distressed Oxide, I heat embossed some clear embossing powder over this wood grained My Favorite Things (retiring) background stamp.
Then, using another sheet of watercolor paper, I stamped out a border of holiday floral images from Ellen Hutson Essentials in embossing ink and heat embossed some more clear embossing powder. I snagged my Gansai Tambi watercolors and added some loose watercolor. This was originally a full border on all four sides, but I ended up trimming it down. I added some dimensional tape so the border would pop up from the wood. Finally, to add a sentiment, I pulled some canvas paper and stamped out a Funny Bones sentiment. I distressed the canvas paper with a little vintage photo distress oxide, and adhered it to the card, adding a dew drop so it looked like the note had been tacked onto the wood.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this challenge. Hopefully it will not be as difficult for you as it was for me!
I love this, such a fun stamp and the background is perfect to show it off

I was looking forward to this challenge but then found it tricky too. I love this sentiment, it made me laugh, and it looks great against your wood background and frame.

Magnifique ta bordure fleuri sur ce fond boisé, je vois que cette technique a posé des problèmes à tous ou presque mais le resultat en vaut la peine, biz
