This is just my sweet reminder that you still have time to play over at Christmas Card Throwdown.  There is still plenty of time to whip you your starburst technique and link it up.

Now for many, the sunburst or starburst technique is intended for paper piecing.  I on the other hand love this technique when it is done with ink blended into the paper.  So I decided to do this with both paper and ink.

I started by making the paper starburst.  In this card I used three different papers to make up the sky.  Then grabbing a new piece of card stock, I started blending in the ink.  I used post it tape to mask everything but the one area I was adding black ink to.  I trimmed up the ink blended paper and added the Hero Arts manger scene.  I then added the inked starburst to the paper one.  Finally, using some white embossing powder, I stamped out the sentiment from the same stamp pack.  I added a little gel pen glitter to the star and the sentiment.
